Sombrero Ranch-
On August 6th, my husband, daughter, 2 sons and myself had an adventure that we will never forget. We were lucky enough to get to stay at the Grand Lake Lodge on Friday night while passing through from California to Iowa. Over dinner we discussed what we would like to do on our short stay in the Rockies, we agreed to try a trail ride but some had mixed emotions. My husband knows how but really doesn't enjoy riding, the 8 year old is a nervous rider who only is comfortable on his paint pony home on the farm and even I thought that this would be your typical trail ride with a bunch of people from a city who have never ridden and we'd be on horses who could walk the trail in their sleep.
Saturday 10:am we met John, the wrangler from Georgia. He informed us that we would be his only riders for the morning. John was very pleasant and friendly. He talked to our kids and found out that we have our own horses here in Iowa, then he really opened up! He picked out great horses for each of us, including Blackie my 8 year old who is nervous of anything over 3.5 feet tall! We saw all of the sights on our 2+ hour ride. (He took us on a little extra to see the river up closer.)
We all agreed that this was the highlight of our trip! And that included the sights of San Francisco, Napa Valley, the canyons and mountains! Oh yeah, and the exciting trip through Nebraska, you can't forget that thrilling day!
Anyway, I just wanted to thank John and tell you what a great job that he did. We will always speak highly of Sombrero Ranch and encourage our friends and family to visit you when they have a chance.
Thank-you.
Sincerely,
Allison
